About Us
Emrys Tollers was founded on May 12th, 2013 with the adoption of Tug. I had decided I wanted a more versatile breed than what I was already showing. I wanted something that I could compete with in all PKC venues and be able to fully title. It needed to be petzy but still realistic and have consistant competition in the conformation ring as well as being able to be competitive for higher placements. I started looking to breeds I liked in real life and watching those in the PKC rings. Eventually I settled on Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers and decided to try one dog to see if I clicked with the breed.
I instantly fell in love with Tug and his happy personality. I found myself leaving my game up in the background while I did other things just letting Tug play around which I never did with other dogz. He had a bumpy road to his championship though. I think a large part of that was me being new to posing the file but even so he was alot of fun to compete with. He became the first fully titled Toller on PKC on September 25th, 2013 with the completion of his championship title. This was later surpassed with the addition of official Grand Champion titles when my second Toller, Bryn completed all available PKC titles on April 1st, 2014. Bryn also became my first Winner Circle placing Toller when she was awarded Best Winners on November 20th, 2013 under Judge Aubz.
Our first litter was born on Christmas Eve 2013. Bryn gave birth to eight wonderful little pups sired by Tug. All but two of the puppies from the litter have finished their championship with three of them placing in Group. This litter also produced our first winner circle placer that was bred here at Emrys when Mina, owned by mirrorblue, took Winner 1 on March 3rd, 2014 under Judge Kelsey. We kept a female from this litter named Mari, who followed in her parents paws and finished all available PKC titles and retired on July 15th, 2015.
